On this day 18 years ago, 246 people will go to sleep before morning flights. 2,606 people will go to sleep in preparation for work the next morning. 343 firefighters have shifts coming up in the morning. 60 police officers have patrol. 8 paramedics will be on call and ready the next morning. None of them saw 10am on September 11, 2001. Tomorrow, we remember all of them. Join us at either one of our TNP30 classes as we honor all who were lost by completing a 9-11 remembrance workout in their memory. We keep our phones/electronics charged up. Our vehicles are filled with gas. Are we doing the same with our bodies? The CDC reports that one-third of US adults report that they usually get less than the recommended seven or more hours of sleep per night. Chronic sleep deprivation is linked to many chronic diseases and conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, obesity, depression, and injury. Gone are the days of glorifying short sleep or wearing it like a badge of honor. The facts and statistics prove that we can do better.
